Winslow Homer is known for his powerful paintings of American life and scenery, especially seascapes. Less well known, but equally important, are his representations of the charged subjects of war, race, politics, and the environment. Presenter Suzanne Altman will discuss Homer's life, his works during and after the Civil War, and his legacy.

About the Presenter

Suzanne Altman is an art educator and art historian who has been presenting lectures and courses on art subjects for many years, initially in the NY metro area, and as of 2023, on Cape Cod. She is also a painter who works out of her home studio in South Yarmouth and has exhibited widely.
